Pakistan PM Imran Khan falsely claimed that PM Modi apologized for the lockdown

On Monday, PM Imran Khan addressed the people of Pakistan, explaining why he feels a nationwide lockdown in Pakistan is a bad idea.

Imran Khan said during his speech that a few days earlier PM Modi declared a full lockdown in India but had to apologise to the people for implementing a lockdown without giving it much consideration.


Pakistan media house Geo News pointed out Khan's false claim of Modi's apology. In a show they broadcast, Geo News fact-checked the misleading assertion of PM Khan and claimed Modi apologized for the difficulty and suffering created by the lockdown, not the lockdown itself, and Modi never stated the implementation of the lockdown was not a thoughtful step.
